Handcrafted Bath & Beauty Gift Making!

Gift giving season is upon us again! And as you know, our favorite gifts are the handmade with love kind. Today we are going to show you how to make luxurious sugar scrubs and bath salts. They're so versatile and so easy to make, you can go ahead and do the "one for me, one for you."

You may remember when we showed you a simple homemade bar soap recipe. If you pair that one along with these, you have a complete bath and body set! This makes an absolutely gorgeous gift for Mother's Day, birthdays, just about any occasion--or no occasion at all.

We chose to make our salt a very feminine presentation with ingredients like pink salts, dried florals, flowery essential oils. We made our sugar scrub a Holiday presentation with white sugar, red cranberry seeds, peppermint essential oil and a bit of shimmer for that Candy Cane vibe. You can customize yours to your preference by opting for citrus, lavender, you name it!

The thing that makes these handcrafted beauties so great is that they are completely all-natural and free of nasty toxins, preservatives, or chemicals. Plus they will leave your skin smelling and feeling simply divine.

Important Reminder:

We always recommend researching which essential oils are recommended for bath & body products, following instructions on dilutions and ratios, using pure oils from a reputable source, and avoiding/discontinuing any that you may have sensitivities or allergies to.

....And of course we couldn't avoid the Ho Wood jokes with Brenden in the house.

Floral Soaking Salt Recipe:

1/2 Cup Epsom Salt

1/2 Cup Himalayan Pink Salt

1 tsp Vitamin E

5 or 6 Dried Florals (optional) We used rosebuds & hibiscus petals for fragrance and skin conditioning properties

5 drops Essential Oils (optional) We used Rosewood to compliment the florals. Rose Absolute or Ho Wood are great alternatives.

Add salts together in a sanitized bowl. Thoroughly mix in vitamin E oil. Stir in your essential oils. Lastly, gently sprinkle in your dried botanicals. We recommend pouring into a pretty glass craft jar for presentation.

Candy Cane Sugar Scrub Recipe:

1 Cup Sugar

1/2 Cup Oil. (We used a 50/50 mix of olive oil and jojoba oil, but you can use whichever oils you prefer. we recommend using oils of light or no color to avoid tinting your scrub.)

1 tsp Vitamin E

3 drops Peppermint essential oil (optional)

1 tsp white sparkle Mica powder for shimmer (optional)

1 tsp Cranberry Seeds (optional)

Thoroughly mix your oils into your sugar. Mix in Vitamin E oil. Blend in optional ingredients. We recommend storing in an airtight waterproof container. Glass craft jars are our favorite.
